Our lymphatic system is connected to the cardiovascular system and fulfills important functions for the organism. In the case of lipedema , the subcutaneous fatty tissue is increased. These are symmetrical fat deposits (legs, less often the arms). It is a chronic fat distribution disorder in women, often after puberty or pregnancy. For lymphoedema, there is a thickening of the skin and subcutaneous tissue, by a lymph.
Often there is excess weight that needs to be reduced.

Why is nutritional therapy important?

The rumor persists that patients with lipedema can save themselves any attempts at weight loss. We are all in our own hands! Nutritional therapy supports your lipedema therapy / lymphedema therapy meaningfully by keeping you overweight  lose weight, relieving stress on your joints and tissues. Furthermore, an anti-inflammatory diet can help to alleviate your discomfort and pain overall.

You will learn how you can boost your metabolism with natural foods & how you can then keep your normal weight / target weight permanently. You can avoid secondary diseases that are related to obesity: insulin resistance , diabetes mellitus , high blood pressure , arteriosclerosis , gout , metabolic syndrome , lipid metabolism disorders and other diseases.

The aim is to provide you with a wholesome, anti-inflammatory diet that contains all of the fatty acids, micronutrients (vitamins and minerals) that are important to you, energy and protein (the amount of protein is adapted to your individual needs) as well as secondary phytonutrients so that your body is optimally supplied . For this purpose, foods that promote inflammation are specifically avoided and plenty of anti-inflammatory foods are consumed. Weight reduction is recommended if you are overweight / obese. An anti-inflammatory diet can improve the state of health.

Proven success through nutritional therapy for lipedema:

Successful weight loss can significantly reduce the need for treatment measures such as lymph therapy and compression. At the same time, the subcutaneous fat tissue on the legs is reduced (documented by the significant reduction in circumference on the thighs and lower legs, but above all by the decrease in the so-called inter-ankle distance, which shows the improvement in the gait pattern particularly well). Whether and to what extent symptoms persist after weight reduction or further therapeutic measures are required cannot be predicted in individual cases, but this also depends on the method and, above all, on the long-term compliance of the patients or the willingness to change their diet over the long term change your lifestyle if necessary.
